The Evaluating the Social studies Book for the First Intermediate Grade from the Perspective of Social Studies Teachers
Abstract
The The study aimed to identify the opinions of social studies teachers with the aim of evaluating the social studies textbook for the first intermediate grade. The study sample consisted of (71) male and female teachers, a percentage of (61%) males (34) and (28) females, who teach first intermediate grade students in the Shatra Education Department. affiliated with the Dhi Qar Education Directorate, and they were chosen intentionally, and because of the research method and style, the descriptive approach was adopted in this research, to achieve the desired goal. The researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (65) items divided into six levels, including (the introduction to the book, the objectives of the book, the content The book, activities and exercises, evaluation methods) and the validity and reliability of the scale were verified, and the researcher relied on the data package for statistical analysis (Spss), and as a result of the presence of great complaints from students and parents, as the researcher indicated this in a questionnaire submitted to the parents, through which it became clear that what A percentage of (78%) complain about the social studies subject, and the continuous writing of books and the amendments made by the Iraqi Ministry of Education are only out of awareness of the subject, due to the need to take into account the orientations and ambitions of the students. Therefore, it is extremely important that we evaluate the social studies textbook on solid foundations and from a scientific standpoint and a clear diagnosis, since the
