The Effect of the Concept ladders Strategy on Acquiring and retaining research concepts among third-year students in the educational research methods subject.

Abstract

  This research aims to identify (the effect of the concept ladders strategy in acquiring and retaining research concepts at the third stage in the educational research curriculum subject). To achieve the research goal, the researcher used the experimental method with partial control. The research sample consisted of (53) male and female students from the first grades teacher department. - College of Basic Education - Sumer University. The number of students in the experimental group was (27) students who studied according to the concept ladders strategy, and the number of students in the control group was (26) students who studied in the traditional method. The researcher was rewarded in the following variables (age -

 

 intelligence - previous information - The general average), the researcher prepared the research tool, a concept acquisition test consisting of (30) concepts and each concept includes (definition, distinction, application). Thus, the research concept acquisition test consisted of (90) multiple-choice type items, and the research results showed the superiority of the group. The experimental study, which was taught according to the concept ladders strategy, on the students of the control group, which was studied according to the usual method, in testing the acquisition and retention of research concepts among the students of the first-grade teacher’s department in the subject of the educational research methodology.
