Abstract

The Murji'ah are a group of theologians affiliated with Islam. They disagreed with the opinion of the Kharijites, as well as the Sunnis, regarding the one who commits a major sin, and they said that everyone who believes in the oneness of God cannot be judged as a disbeliever, because the judgment on him is entrusted to God Almighty alone on the Day of Resurrection, regardless of the sins he committed. There are those who believe that postponement is of two types: The first: which refers to a group whose thinking is dominated by political aspects. The second: which refers to a group whose thinking is dominated by religious aspects, which makes us feel two meanings for postponement. The political factor contributed to the emergence of the idea of postponement, especially during the era of Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan, who adopted the doctrine of postponement because it justified his political behavior that aimed to destroy the intellectual foundations of Islam. Then, the position of the Ahl al-Bayt school on the issue of postponement and its impact on the individual and society was revealed.
