Abstract

    The House of Representatives is the most important constitutional institution in any country. It constitutes the basic pillar of national governance, reflects the true form of the democratic system, and represents the supreme authority of the people. Since Lebanon is the oldest Arab country in its formation of parliaments, and is made up of a group of sects, it has We decided to study the position of the Sunni community through its representatives in successive parliaments during the years 1920-1958, and to focus on the role of this community in Lebanon and what it played in its internal politics. The importance of the topic lies in shedding light on the formulation of the country’s general policy through the House of Representatives, and the demand for rights, And assigning duties, which necessitated knowledge of the general sphere of Sunni representatives and the extent of their effectiveness within Parliament in conveying the voices of members of their sect.

       Due to the necessity of scientific research, this study was divided into a group of topics: the formation of the Lebanese state and the beginning of constitutional life until 1926, the position of Sunni representatives in the Senate and the House of Representatives 1926-1932, in addition to the role of Sunni representatives in the House of Representatives 1933-1942, as well as the activity of Sunni representatives

 

In the House of Representatives 1943-1952, and finally the House of Representatives and the interventions of representatives in the year 1952-1958.
