Text Linguistics (Origins, Pioneers, Terminological Stabilization)

Abstract

    This research presents a detailed overview of this modern branch of linguistic studies in terms of its origins and the pioneers from various linguistic schools that preceded it. It also discusses the foundational sciences and their various concepts and terminologies. It becomes clear that text linguistics, or text grammar, is essentially the result of multiple contributions from scholars with diverse backgrounds—ranging from linguists specializing in language studies to contributors from various other fields such as psychology, anthropology, philology, rhetoric and poetry, stylistics, and more.
