Abstract

The research aims to analyze the content of the Life Sciences Department’s courses in light of the concepts of sustainable development. To achieve this goal, and after reviewing previous literature, we relied on a ready-made tool developed by researcher Aziz 2018 for the concepts of sustainable development and its dimensions, which in its final form consisted of (51) sub-issues distributed among the three basic concepts (social, economic, environmental). After ensuring the validity and reliability of the tool, the content of the Life Sciences Department courses, which consists of (36) courses, was analyzed. The researcher adopted the idea as the unit of analysis. One of the most important findings reached by the researcher is the neglect of a number of issues and concepts of sustainable development. In other words, the Life Sciences Department’s curricula did not include a number of sustainable development issues Some of them are covered in

some academic courses in small and limited proportions, almost negligible. The research concluded with a number of recommendations and proposals.
