Celibacy in the time of the Messenger (may God bless him and his family) and his position on it

Summary:

Celibacy is considered a method of worship among followers of previous religions, such as Jews and Christians. It aims to devote oneself to worship, abandon pleasures, and seclusion. It found an echo among some Muslims who were enthusiastic about worship in the time of the Messenger (may God bless him and his family), thinking that it was pleasing to God Almighty. The Messenger (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) intended to warn the Muslims that it was a wrong approach, and that these methods were not part of worship in any way, and were alien to Islam, and that he was not sent to do so. A group of narrations were mentioned of cases of this kind among the Prophet’s companions, and the bad effects that they had. I left her behind, We divided the research into several axes, the first of which dealt with the linguistic and terminological meaning of celibacy, while the second axis examined what was mentioned in this meaning in the Holy Qur’an, while the third axis dealt with the appearance of signs of celibacy among some of the Companions, and the fourth axis dealt with examples of historical incidents of these practices and the behavior of the Messenger. The fifth axis dealt with the Prophet’s (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family) urging marriage and then the conclusion.
