Utilizing the Semantic Meaning of the Concept of (Signification) in the Critical and Rhetorical Legacy
Abstract
The prevalence of linguisticterms in critical and rhetorical heritage is a constant matter as long as language is the material of literature and the field in which talents compete. It is the tonguefruit and the focus of efforts concerned with studying it. Perhaps the term (sign) is most famous and valuable of these terms in the critical treatment of literary texts and eloquent speech, then statement of their ranks in quality and eloquence according to the termstature occupied in the system of artistic standards among literary scholars and critics.Tracing the stages of the concept development term (sign) from expressing abstract sensory connotations.Then, entering the linguistic thinking world as a common part of sound in human communication all its forms and levels. It became an artistic standard in evaluating high-level linguistic texts, poetry and prose.The subject of this study has not been preceded by any other study according to our limited knowledge as is the case with a group of literary and rhetorical criticism terms that originate in linguistic thought.
