The Red Sea in Arab Politics 1949-1973
Abstract
this study deals with the town of Buwazij al-Mulk, located in the south of the Red Sea region witnessed intense international and regionl competition. this competition resulted in changes in the internal and external Polies of the countries of the region, and due to the importance that the Red Sea enjoys geographically, strategically, economically and security - wise for the Arab countries bordering it and located on its coasts, and being a major waierway of impoetance in Arab and international trade, in addition to being the closest trade route is linked to the suez Canal, and after that canal was opened in 1869, the major powers began racing to control the Red Sea, so it became necessary for the Arab countries to adopt a Policy that would Preserve it and remove any danger from greedy countries in order not to control it and leave it mostly an Arab lake.
