Abstract
The problem of water pollution is one of the most prominent problems facing the contemporary world, and this is due to climate change and rainfall in Iraq in general and in the sources of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which are the main supplier of surface water in Iraq, especially in the southern regions. In addition, the increase in evaporation rates, the lack of water imports flowing to Iraq from the source areas through the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the increase in wastewater that is disposed of to the schedule of grav, and the increase in the drainage of water in the agricultural areas scattered on the banks of rivers and increased water consumption as a result of the population increase, It has led to high levels of pollutants in the water. The characteristics that were studied in the research have exceeded the limits allowed by the concerned authorities in Iraq, as well as the global standards set by the World Health Organization during the summer and winter seasons. This led to great environmental effects within the city of Al -Rifai, which was the pollution of river water, which is the source of liquefied water and drinking water, as well For diseases that are reflected in the health deterioration of the population..
