The importance of the research comes from the fact that it studies a period of contemporary Iraqi history through a historical study aimed at identifying the most important educational and cultural variables, as the government of Abdul Karim Qasim (1958-1963 AD) was able to eliminate the heavy legacy and the state of extreme backwardness of Iraqi society, so the leaders of the revolution put education in front of their eyes and sought to eliminate the ignorance and illiteracy that was widespread in it during the previous royal era (1921-1958 AD), as education took steps forward in the era of the new government in Iraq in general and Basra in particular, as the annual reports of the Ministry of Education praised, confirming the rise in the number of students in kindergartens, primary and intermediate schools and the spread of vocational education in all districts and areas of Basra Governorate.
