Abstract

This research revolves around Ibn al-Maysar, who is considered one of the contemporary historians who lived through the events of the Fatimid state in Egypt. He held many administrative positions, including the position of writer. He was well-versed in administrative work and gained great status and prestige with the Fatimid Caliph in Egypt. Therefore, we find him reporting the events in all their details.  Talking about the prominent figures in the state who held administrative positions gave an accurate description of this system and its foundations, in addition to the caliphs’ issuing orders to appoint a number of figures who were characterized by strength, honesty, and judgment, and who had great experience in this field.
