Textual consistency in the poetry of Gibran Khalil Gibran, the poem “Scotti Inshad” as a model (a descriptive and analytical study)
Abstract
This research aims to study the textual coherence in the poem "Scotty Inshad" by Gibran Khalil Gibran, and to show how the means of textual coherence combine to achieve coherence and cohesion in the text, as this poem represented a clear model in the diversity of different textual structures: grammatical, lexical, semantic, and phonetic. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach, and came in three topics that included: grammatical coherence, lexical coherence, and phonetic coherence, preceded by an introduction in which the concept of coherence was mentioned, and followed by a conclusion in which he proved the results of the research. The results of the research showed Gibran Khalil Gibran's ability to harness the tools of textual coherence in its various types, as he used them well to
serve his goal, as these tools had an aesthetic function that contributed to forming a textual fabric with a great deal of coherence.
