Quranic Metaphor (Majaz) and Its Role in Intensifying Rhetorical Meaning: Verses of Reflection and Contemplation as a Model

Abstract

    This study examines the role of metaphor in the Qur'an as an effective rhetorical mechanism for intensifying meaning, through an analysis of selected verses that encourage reflection and contemplation. It demonstrates how metaphor transforms abstract concepts into tangible images that are easily perceived by human cognition, thereby stimulating contemplation of both cosmic and faith-based laws. The analysis adopts an analytical approach to uncover the use of logical metaphor and metonymy in constructing concentrated meanings, highlighting the Qur'an's rhetorical inimitability and its ongoing engagement with the human intellect across generations.
