The objective approach to interpreting the Holy Qur’an between the foundations of the ancients and the theorization of the moderns

Abstract

    In this study، the researcher aims to shed light on the thematic approach to Qur’anic interpretation as a methodological framework that seeks to examine Qur’anic issues by collecting and analyzing verses related to a specific topic within an integrated context. This approach facilitates the derivation of a comprehensive Qur’anic perspective. The study explores the thematic interpretation in terms of its foundations، methodology، and significance while highlighting its role in uncovering Qur’anic meanings in a coherent manner that aligns with the objectives of Islamic law. The researcher applies this method to selected exegetical works that adopt the thematic approach، demonstrating how it aids in linking related verses to provide a deeper and more precise understanding of their interpretative implications. Furthermore، the study reveals that thematic interpretation relies on analyzing Qur’anic contexts and extracting concepts in a structured manner، making it a  methodology that contributes to the renewal of Qur’anic studies and offers an understanding more aligned with the evolution of Islamic thought.
