Ideologies are not theories of knowledge; rather, they serve as frameworks within which opinions and orientations are employed to support a position, authority, or institution. They do not present neutral or pure knowledge but instead aim to mobilize individuals and fill their minds and souls with what they perceive as facts and information. Thus, ideologues utilize discourse to attract the largest possible audience by providing justifications and rationalizing practices. The production of explanations and analyses makes actions and experiences appear legitimate and acceptable. Ideological discourse has the power to frame and dominate all other discourses, deriving its strength from the convictions of the discourse producer and their desire to pass them on to recipients. It is perceived as a serious discourse that embodies "common sense" solutions to social crises.
