The impact of Khorasan on the struggle for power in Iran during the leadership of Muhammad Taqi Khan
Abstract
Khorasan is one of the important and strategic Iranian states and the object of everyone's ambitions, as its history after the fall of the Safavid state is full of many rebellions, as the era that preceded Muhammad Taqi Khan's assumption of the position of Grand Vizier in Iran witnessed a state of unrest and conflicts in the hope of monopolizing power by all means, and all of this was at the expense of Iran's prosperity and development and the greed for power, which was characterized by bloodiness and ferocity, and Khorasan continued as a hotbed of rebellion and Turkmen rebellions, helped by its important location, as it represents a center for the Turkmen tribes fighting over power, in addition to that it was considered one of the strategic regions for Russia and Britain.
