Sumerian Cities and Their Religious Beliefs A Study of Sumerian Archaeology
Abstract
In this research, we dealt with the most important Sumerian cities and their religious beliefs among the Sumerians, who are the first Iraqi Euphrates forces that inhabited the Faid plain in southern Iraq, depending on the course of the Euphrates River, which changed its course to several sewers in its long history. The Sumerians lived on the banks of the course of the Euphrates River known as (Palayturoncal), which is one of the streams of the Euphrates River, which passes in Nefer (Afk) in Al-Qadissiya Governorate through the ruins of Basmaya, Uma, Al-Madain (Badtibra), Al-Aur, and then to the Arabian Gulf. The Sumerians believed in the god (Ananki) as gods to bless the agricultural fields, livestock and water resources known to be the gods of reeds and papyrus. But the Sumerian cities differ in their religious beliefs from each other according to the policy of kings, rulers and the power of the city.
