Evaluating the Performance of Social Studies Teachers in Secondary sc in Light of their Dducational Competencies
Abstract
The importance of the current research stems from the importance of the social studies subject and how to prepare scientific staff capable of keeping up with the changes of the times and interacting with these changes. The social studies subject is considered one of the necessary subjects to prepare the competent teacher in order to use what is best for teaching social subjects and transform the learning subject from a negative process into a process that better reflects it The needs of scientific knowledge necessary for the challenges of the times.
Research objective: The research aims to do the following:
- Evaluating the performance of social studies teachers in secondary schools in light of their educational competencies.
- Determining the competencies necessary for the performance of social studies teachers in secondary schools.
Research limits: The research is limited to the following:
- teachers of social studies in secondary schools for morning study in the Second Rusafa Education Directorate/outskirts of eastern Baghdad.
Research methodology: - For the purpose of achieving the research objectives, the researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (60) competencies distributed over (5) areas, and after presenting the list of competencies to a group of specialists and experts in measurement, evaluation, and teaching methods, some modifications were made, and in its final form there were (50) competencies. The researcher used the following statistical methods, the Pearson correlation coefficient to calculate the stability of the tool, the weighted mean to calculate the severity of the paragraph, and the percentage weight to indicate the value of each paragraph of the tools.
