Evaluating the exercises of the Arabic language book for the third intermediate grade in light of functional linguistics from the teachers’ point of view
Abstract
The study aimed to reveal the evaluation of the exercises of the Arabic language book for the third intermediate grade in light of functional linguistics and its relationship to some variables, namely: (gender, years of experience, and academic qualification). The descriptive survey method was used, and the study tool was applied to a sample of (430) male and female teachers, who were selected by a simple random method in Iraqi schools. The questionnaire was applied, consisting of (40) items distributed over three areas: (pragmatic competence, psychological competence, and stereotypical competence). The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: The degree of evaluation of the exercises of the Arabic language book for the third intermediate grade in the light of functional linguistics from the point of view of teachers was high in all fields. The results of the study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) between The average score of Arabic language teachers in evaluating the exercises of the Arabic language book for the third intermediate grade in light of functional linguistics is due to the gender variable.
