The Role of Islamic Education Curricula in Middle School in Promoting Values of Community Peace

Abstract

    The research aimed to identify the values of community peace and evaluate the content of these books in light of those issues. To achieve the study's objectives, the researcher employed the descriptive analytical method. The sample consisted of Islamic education textbooks for the intermediate level in Iraq. The researcher used a content analysis list for the Islamic education books and utilized arithmetic means and percentages to analyze the data and deduce the results. The study results showed that the item "maintaining social cohesion" ranked first with a total frequency of (32) repetitions and a percentage of (26.67%). The item "not spreading rumors" ranked last (tenth) with a total frequency of (5) repetitions and a percentage of (4.67%). The researcher recommended the necessity of rebuilding the content of Islamic education textbooks for the intermediate levels in a way that achieves the various issues of community peace values.
